About your piece: the focal point looks really odd where it is, being off-center. Also, I could see this being in a more elongated size dimension (like 1200x600), which might give this fractal a little bit more room to breathe. As it is, it looks a little confined to me, but that's just my two cents. The colors are nice and the fractal itself is a little grainy but is eye-catching.

I feel bad for you about the hard drive. I had that happen to myself once. It was at uni and I had my entire semesters worth of work on there. All gone. Luckily my teachers took pity on me.
