Dearest friends and fellow Apophysis users,
I would like to begin by saying that this is a letter of the deepest gratitude and it is a message that comes from deep with in my heart. I am sure that a great many of you share these feelings and I wish for everyone to express themselves either way.
I am writing this in hopes that it reaches the eyes of my intended audience: the pioneers who have taken on the arduous tasks of making the fractal generating program Apophysis what it is today.
I wish to thank Zueuk, utak3r, and the other programmers of the original team (my apologies, but your names escape me at the moment, but my heartfelt thanks is of no less severe for you) who have spent years digging through Mark Townsend's muddled code to bring us the fine product that it has been. I wish to thank Gygrazok,Lu-Kout and the Faber brothers, JoelFaber and MichaelFaber for their hard work on their "hacks", their versions of the program in the years past. I would like to thank Xyrus-02 and lyc for expanding on the hard work of their peers and creating new programs to better the name of Apophysis.
These generous and marvelous souls took on these daunting tasks, not for money, but for the love of their fellow artists, I'm sure. They have certainly all earned my admiration over the years that I have been using this program and I have no doubt that they will continue to in the years to come.
All of those names mentioned, along side those like grinagog, NatalieKelsey, ClaireJones, and TaraRoys, have been my sources of inspiration every time I opened the program and sought to find something new. All of these people have brought Apophysis through the last few years and have made it what it is today. I know that it can only get better and all of these folks are the reason for it.
This is not to say that users such as SuicideBySafetyPin, phoenixkeyblack, and many other from the aposhack crew have not had their hand in bringing this program to the lustrous prestige that it is at today.
Really, thank you all. Apophysis has been one of my raisons d'etre ever since I pushed out my first render. With out all of you, I'd have one less good reason to wake up and shuffle from my bed every day.
And to all of you whose names weren't mentioned, you were not forgotten. You've all had your hands in the program's success in one way or another and I am truly, truly grateful to every single one of you.
May all of our lives be blessedly full of multi-colored triangles, our gradient choices always be a perfect match, and all of our renders swift and wonderfully full of quality and density.
And thank you once again to all Apophysis users.
