DeviantArt is always going to do what it's always done. It's going to grow and growing implies change.
And as long as the website doesn't change into a website for a hot dog restaurant where the serves serve you food while wearing masterpieces screen printed onto full body spandex zentai...Things will be ok.
I'm also not saying that any change implies progress. But, without change, you can't see progress.
I mean, I don't know. Do whatever any way. DeviantArt is always going to change. That's the matter of deviousness and the matter of art. It's in the name.
I need a hand
I figured I would give this a try here as well, in case there are any friends on here that don't follow my facebook or tumblr feeds.
I've decided to take the plunge and finally move on out to California. Specifically the bay area. I need a little bit of a hand financially, however. Everything is explained in the fundraiser page itself. But the long and short of it is, I lost my grandparents, I'm moving out of their house, and starting life over in a place where I can grow and thrive more easily.

It always surprises me when people (see comment by LYC below) think that only UF work gets into these Mandelbrot Contests. As you might know, I only have entered Apo flames in these contests and some how miraculously got into the show along with other flame fractals by other artists and many 3d works as well.
Being a flame fractal artist most of the time myself and also now having been asked to be on the selection panel for this years show I certainly will not be giving any consideration at all as to what program a work is done in. My choices will be just based on my gut feeling as well as how visually and emotionally I'm affect by what images there are to choose from.
For what it is worth I think you have some real stunning and creative work and am sorry to hear you will not be entering any of them this year, although I am sure you have very good and sincere reasons for making that decision.
